Ben Cote Vocals, Guitar
Ben discovered his father’s Van Halen records at the age of 14, and has been playing the guitar ever since. His passion and energy for live rock has driven his ambition to become a guitar force to be reckoned with. At age 19 he moved to Hollywood to study music, but has returned to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston. Ben writes and records his own music, and tours the New England area with the Ben Cote Band. Ben has performed with the national band, Road Dawg, in Nashville and Laconia Fest in New Hampshire opening for legends; Bret Michaels, Vince Neil, Warrant, LA Guns, Lita Ford, Cinderella and others. Ben is heavily influenced by artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, David Bowie, The Ramones, The Replacements, Eric Clapton, and Aerosmith. Ben is the 2016 and 2017 recipient of Berklee College of Music's Achievement Award, and the 2018 Professional Music Achievement Award.
Taka Nakamura Drums, Backing Vocals
Taka began his musical journey in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he grew up and lived for the majority of his life. He began with the piano at age 6, but made a switch for good to percussion in 5th grade. He took some interest in the guitar and the bass through middle school, but since, he has focused his time mainly on drum set. From his humble beginnings in Malaysia, Taka eventually travelled halfway around the world to Boston to study music performance and business at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. He currently plays for several local acts in Boston, including blues rock band Tokyo Tramps and fusion act G-Force, and he also maintains ties with several musicians who also travelled from Malaysia to Boston, including singer-songwriters Daniel Yoong and Jo.
Josiah Contreras Bass, Backing Vocals
Josiah Contreras (a.k.a. Red Elk) is a bassist, songwriter and producer from Denver, Colorado. He is currently in his senior year at Berklee College of Music, where he has studied with world-renowned musicians, such as Victor Wooten, Livingston Taylor, John Patitucci, and James Genus.
Josiah has played with multiple artists, including singer-songwriters, rock bands, cover bands, and funk/soul groups in Denver, Boston, and Spain, resulting in an extended repertoire, and versatile approaches to playing live and in the studio. This includes his own solo project, rooted in Native American Soul Music.
